Hamish Gullison
Hamish is a sophomore at Princeton University studying Neuroscience and Statistics, with a particular interest in fMRI research and neuroeconomics. Alongside his academic work, he is passionate about conservation, having contributed to initiatives protecting endangered old-growth Douglas fir ecosystems in British Columbia. He hopes to empower Canadian youth to engage in environmental stewardship through his contributions to LCOY Canada.
Jacky Tang
Jacky is a senior at St. George’s School who has worked with LCOY Canada and YOUNGO in both 2024 and 2025. His policy work includes econometric research on the demographic impacts of flooding, as well as research in Ricardian trade theory and mercantilism. Outside of policy, Jacky is a poet and visual artist whose work has appeared in the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, Shō Poetry Journal, the League of Canadian Poets, Heimat Review, and elsewhere.

Youth Climate Leadership and Policy Engagement

Nat Liang
Nat Liang is a Grade 11 student at St. George’s School in Vancouver with interests in economics, public policy, and sustainability. He is particularly interested in how policy and economic institutions can address complex social and environmental challenges. Beyond LCOY Canada, Nat has explored these interests through economics competitions and programs including Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS). Outside of academics, he enjoys badminton, cross country, and dragon boat.
Angela Zhang
Angela Zhang is a high school student graduating in 2028. Her passion for dragon boating fuels a connection with Vancouver’s waters, motivating her interest in ocean stewardship and environmental policy. At the 2025 Ocean Conference of Youth, she worked as an organizer and speaker, delivering a speech about recreational boating from an environmental perspective. For this year’s Local Conference of Youth, she will continue her research to focus on the role of recreational boaters as ocean stewardship stakeholders and policies that reduce their environmental impact.

Ecology, Biodiversity, and Conservation
Aham Pandey
My name is Aham Pandey, and I am a Theme Advisor for Theme 2: Ecology, Biodiversity, and Conservation at LCOY Canada 2026. I am passionate about biodiversity conservation, environmental sustainability, and creating opportunities for young people to collaborate on solutions to today's environmental challenges. Through this role, I hope to facilitate engaging discussions, connect participants with inspiring experts, and help develop meaningful youth-driven recommendations that contribute to Canada's climate and conservation efforts.
Amos Zhu
I am Amos Zhu and I self identify as a 14 year old, chinese male, who lives with his parents, Junwei and Lily on the traditional, unceded land of the Hul-ka-MEE-num First peoples, part of over forty indigenous groups in the coast salish region, they have lived on this land for eons, I’ve been able to live, learn and grow on their land. Having lived in Canada for my entire life, I have grown up with the understanding that protecting systematically discriminated groups is vital to maintaining a peaceful society. The only way to move forward is to look to the past and understand our mistakes are not to be repeated. I believe that protecting the environment is vital to the bettering of the Earth, and I think a primary way of doing this is to promote the biodiversity on our planet.
Ethan Bo
Bima Ariyanto
Bima is currently pursuing a Master of Engineering Leadership in Clean Energy at the University of British Columbia. With a background in mechanical engineering, he has over five years of experience in construction project management across major infrastructure, industrial, residential, and commercial projects. Passionate about community leadership, has served in several nonprofit organizations supporting youth and local communities.
George Guan
George, a Grade 12 IB student at St. John's School in Vancouver, works at the intersection of engineering, climate policy, and energy policy — specifically, what it takes to move a building, a school, or a city off fossil fuels and onto clean power. At LCOY Canada he serves as an Outreach Director and Theme Organizer for Sustainable Cities. He is also leading a proposal to install 10 kW of rooftop solar at his school and mentors younger students in STEM through Futurvia Minds Society. He swims competitively, lifts, and does musical theatre.

Nikita Filanovsky
Nikita is an undergraduate at McGill University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with interests in mental health, patient care, and the intersection between climate change and human health. Through volunteering in mental health peer support organizations and working in a medical office gaining hands-on experience with healthcare systems, she has developed a strong interest in how environmental change affects human wellbeing — a connection she looks forward to exploring further at LCOY.
Aaron Bai
I am a Grade 11 student from Vancouver, interested in the environment, technology, and conservation. I am an avid environmental researcher who is passionate about creating positive environmental change and spreading ideas of sustainable development. In my free time, I spend my time hiking, reading, and staying active in my community. Always curious and eager to learn, I look forward to new experiences and opportunities in the future.
Rianna Peng
Rianna is a Grade 12 student from Vancouver with a passion for science, medicine, and helping others. Beyond academics, she enjoys playing badminton, exploring creative pursuits, and getting involved in her community. As the Prefect of Climate Action, she is passionate about creating positive change and encouraging others to do the same. Curious and eager to learn, Rianna is always excited to take on new experiences and discover new opportunities.
